Mushrooms of Iowa is a hand-painted piano that features twelve different types of fungus that can be found and foraged across the state. From the widely celebrated Morel to the more unusual Indigo Milk Cap, each panel includes the name of the mushroom and the time of year that it can be found - serving as an educational tool and encouraging folks to explore for themselves.

This project was in collaboration with City Sounds Des Moines and installed in downtown Des Moines May-October 2026.
